About me

Every journey needs a starting point, my photography journey began at a very young age through my father who was a very keen photographer who inspired and encouraged me to take pictures at every opportunity

My very first camera was an Olympus Pen EE-3 half-frame film camera which gives twice as many pictures from a roll of film, a very handy feature for a learner as mistakes were plentiful in the beginning

Soon after I managed to acquire a ‘proper’ camera, a Canon EOS 100 SLR film camera, which opened up many new opportunities for photography with the ability to change lenses for different photographic situations

Following a serious motorbike accident in 1997 I found myself taking photography much more seriously, in particular Landscapes, Wildlife and Macro

I am fortunate to live within a hour or so drive away from four National Parks, Lake District, Peak District, Snowdonia and Yorkshire Dales offering stunning landscape opportunities. I also have close by numerous woodlands, forests and natural habitats for excellent wildlife photography opportunities, alongside numerous RSPB sites and Wildfowl & Wetland Trusts

My other passion is music, I love to attend as many gigs and festivals as I can, my camera is usually in attendance with me where I can usually be found at the front taking photographs
